How historic is 233 & 235 Meeting Street?

The structures were originally built in the 1850’s, surviving earthquakes and fires that destroyed much of the surrounding neighborhood. In 1976, the bottom floors were modernized to house Marianne’s, a forerunner of Charleston’s world-class restaurant scene. The structure has been home to Sticky Fingers, a Memphis-style rib and barbecue restaurant, since 1996. Sticky Fingers owners Todd Eischeid, Jeff Goldstein and Chad Walldorf began a complete renovation of the third floor in 2001 to create four spacious suites ranging from 600-1100 square feet, each with separate bedrooms, vanity rooms, living rooms and kitchenettes.
